i know this sould be a simple thing to fix but i can't get my front brakes on my 95 trx300 2x4 to lock up. i've bled the lines, even dissconnecting them one at a time and drained them as i poured in brake fluid to the resivior. the best i can do to lock up the front end is to pump the brakes about 4-5 times and then only one side really locks up. anybody know what i can do to fix this problem? the brake shoes and drums are in good shape as well as the calipers too. later - dana
95 trx300 2x4 w/ warn winch 00 rancher esp 350 4x4 that won't $@%#&*! shift !! (still working on it) |
I had similar problems with my Recon that I bought used. To fix it, I reverse bled them with a syringe. Use the syringe to push fluid up from the bleeder screw and then tighten the screw before removing the syringe. When you're done doing this from both sides, there still may be some residual air in the master cylinder. To remove that air, keep moving the brake lever just a little bit back and forth and you'll see bubbles coming up. Don't squeeze it like applying the brakes though. The last thing you need to do is adjust the brakes. Keep adjusting them out and applying the brakes to recenter everything. You'll be surprised how much further you can adjust them out after they "appear" to rub the first time. Hope this helps.

yea adjust the brakes and if its like the 300 4x4 it has 2 adjusters per wheel 1 on top and 1 on bottom, how i adjusted mine was turn it out till it locks the wheel up then back it off till the wheel spins freely,do all 4 adjusters like that
