Honda Rancher Question
Hey guys i have a question about a purchase:
there is a guy i met yesterday that has a Honda im thinkin about purchasing. it is a 2001 honda rancher 4x4 he said it has only had about 8-9 tanks of gas run through it,still has the orignal tires from factory with half tread. and has no broke or beat up plastic. he told me i could buy it for $2000. do you think this is a Great price on this atv? and anyone have one that they can tell me how they ride? i know honda is tough but i just wanted input with someone who has one. it is a manual shift not ES also
Please someone tell me what u think, i think its a great deal. Thanks

Honda Rancher Question
The thing about any used vehicle, is that you are taking a chance on the previous owner. Things like did they change oil (both motor and differentials), etc.??? If the tires are "half gone", I would suspect that it has more than 8-9 tanks of gas on it, unless he has been driving it on pavement. Don't ever trust tire wear anyway, because lots of folks put on aftermarket tires, then put the "like new" stock tires back on before they sell the machine.
The Rancher is a pretty solid machine, so I would say that even if the machine has seen some abuse, at a good purchase price you could afford to do some repairs if necessary.

Honda Rancher Question
A used honda 4x4 , thats in good condition, for 2000, is a deal. Make sure the motor isnt smoking blue, if it is smoking...pass on it. Take it for a ride, and if it seems to be in the shape he claims...buy it. If youre not real familiar with quads, bring along a friend who is, to help you look it over.
Make sure the frame still has the vin number, and thats theres some sort of paper trail on it. There may be a title in some states, or registration with the state dnr. This just helps confirm its not a stolen quad.
