2 Honda's Stolen on 11-5-05 !!!! Help!!!

This morning around 1 am, two honda atv's were stolen. My '05 Foreman 500 S and my wifes '05 Rancher AT. They were on a 16ft utility trailer last night when we went to bed and this morning they were gone.
The trailer had a lock on it, but they must have just lowered the ramp and pushed them off....there are some tire tracks leading to a rock road behind my house then they are gone.

I live in Patterson, LA. If anyone hears any information on this site about someone trying to change ignition or anything that would lead you to believe that they have a stolen atv in this area let me know please.

Has anyone had this happen? what did you do about it????

I'd call your home owner's insurance.

Friend of mine had 04 CRF 450 and TRX 450 stolen with the enclosed trailer he kept them in and his insurance replaced them.

i dunno what to do, a friend of mine had his raptor stolen about 4 months ago out of the back of his lifted truck. good luck finding them and have a baseball bat in hand when you do. my sympathies to you.

Next time, chain the bikes to the trailer and chain the trailer to the tow vehicle, using a Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit chain and lock. Be sure the tow vehicle has a kill switch as well (they might just steal the whole rig). And insurance never hurts!

if the bikes were connected to the car when the bikes were taken, it is covered under te car insurance regardless of if the atv were insured

well not necessarily, my buddies raptor was not covered, and it was strapped into his truck. they said if it was something taken from inside the vehicle, it would be covered.

thanks for the help guys, i tried to call the home ins. to see. they said that b/c the atv's could have their own ins. that they would not cover it. the trailer that they were stolen off of wasn't connected to anything there was a lock on the tongue so you couldn't tow it away.....they must have just pushed them down the street or something....i called honda financial and they told me to send them a copy of the police report and that if i can't find them within 1 month, they would want the entire balance paid in full within the following month...so then i would have to pull $13,000 out of my @$$ or they would send my to a collection agency.

sounds like i got screwed every way you look at it.....

I don't really see how they can make you pay the entire balance within one month. If they do try to make you pay it, just tell them your atv's were recovered, and continue making your monthly payments like you have been.

I would take a hard look at my policy and see if thats the truth about if something can be insured then they are not paying for it. Does'nt sound like good business practices on Hondas end either. Hate to kick a guy when he is down, but these toys are way to expensive not to insure.
