2005 Foreman 500 ES shifting problems occasionally
 

Hi, i have a 2005 Foreman 500 ES with 30 hours on it. When riding, the gear indicator light occasionally start flashing 5 times, and i have to use the manual shifter, i let it sit a couple of days, and it works fine, it has done this 4 or 5 times, and i just brought it in to have the clutch recall done, and they said they look at until it actuallys start flashing, again, any ideas, thank you

Hmm, 5 blinks i beleive is the ECU motor driver circuit. Most likely problem is a bad ECU, but check the wires going to the shift motor, clean and grease the connectors with electrical grease if you have to. Also check to make sure the wires aren't chaffed or worn through and shorting to ground intermittently.

Would that cause it stop working, and then start working again?

Wires intermittenly shorting out. (short/not short) could be the ecu motor shorting or the ecu curcuit shorting out.
