bad axle?

on my buddies rancher when you kick the rear left tire it wiggles real bad, and it starts to squeak very very bad, like its rubbing something? do these axles have berrings in them? would that cause the squeak? i know its not the brakes.the quad runs normal though , its just annoying right now.its not off balance or anything? any comments?05 rancher

Yes these things do have bearings but they shouldnt be wearing out that fast. My 4x4 does the same thing for all the tires but its just normal I think.

Well isolate the problem. Take the wheel off and fool around with things, you should then be able to loate the sweak.

it wont squeak unless you are riding it, its worse with two people on it.and it might not do it all day, then again might not stop all day? do you think this would be covered under warranty?

the bearing is gone, stop riding it before you blow it apart like i did, get it into a dealer if its an 05 it should be no where near gone

here are pictures to show you what happens when u mud a rancher daily

you the man bill, took the casing off it was shot. only had 6 month warrenty so i'll change myself.honda blamed the tires, they are 26x12-11 dirt devils, is it just me or do all dealers try to bull$hit too much?one size tire isnt going to do that, i think its just bad luck.hondas are still the best. also said slime will cause a berring to go bad, if a i pound of slime in each rear tire can ruin a solid axle there is something wrong.and he didnt even have slime in them. but i do in mine and they feel perfect. thanks all

the slime comment is bullsh*t, the right rear tire on my quad had 4-7 cans of fix a flat in it, when i changed them out a couple months ago, prolly had half a gallon of water in my tire when i switched it, the bearings on the right weren't really bad, the left one as shown in the pictures was demolished with nothing left, that tire had 0 cans of fix of flat. dealer is full of sh*t

it was the left rear on his also. most of these dealers dont know jack about these quads.they make up any excuse so its not there fault.will change this week end when they get here , honda wants 45$ found on ebay for 20$, imagine that.

make sure to replace the seals, also check the diff fluid, mine was contaminated, and required both a cleaning and both seals to be changed, also check the other side of the axle tube, water got all the way over there too, i need 3 bearings and about 9 seals lol
