Geared too low....plenty of power for higher gearing.....probably a liability concern, but something I would change. Maybe enough of an excuse for taller tires(?)!

my TRX250 was terrible like that. Reverse was so incredibly low, it was actually quicker to get off and push it backwards, u would have to pee on the tire to tell if it was moving, even at redline!!!!!!!

I think it's plenty fast for reverse. How fast do you need to go backwards?
