Default 07 Rancher 420, 35 miles, already got a flat!!!!

So today im riding ,and we get ready to leave ,and what do you know,
Some sharp object destroyed my back left tire!!!

Honda has none avalible at the moment.
It is a stock 24-10-11 Maxxis tire.
They dont know how long its going to be before they get it in ,but I placed the order anyway.

They do have a Bridgestone in stock.
It could be 2 weeks before they get the tire in.

I really want the tires to match ,but im tempted to just replace that one.
What would yall do?

your stock tire lasted 5 miles longer than my stock tire. How long before you get another flat? I replaced them with 6 ply as soon as I could.

If you don't have the cash just get it patched from the inside of the tire.Should be fine till you get another flat in another tire.I agree with Propnut and get some decent 6 ply tires and flats will be a thing of the past.

3850 miles on coal trails on stock tires. don't really see the issue with them. i had a flat 2 days after i put my dirt devil 6 plys on. it all comes down to luck. if you can patch it, then do it

The slash is at least 8 to 10 inches long.

Is that possible to repair?
Cash isent really the issue ,but Honda has no factory Maxxis avalible at the moment.

I ordered the tire today ,but they dont know when it will be in.
The dealer was guessing 2 weeks, but I have a feeling it will be longer.

They do have a Bridgestone in stock but with this atv being new, I wanted everything to match.
Guess im ocd!!
Im probably going to just put the Bridestone on ,and try to forget about it.

I gotta ask. How much was that one tire?
If its as much as I have heard, you are better off getting a whole set of aftermarket tires. You will be much happier.
My Dirt Devils have been on 2 quads with no problems of any kind. They have about 2000 miles on them.

I ordered a OEM Maxxis for $70, but Im thinking of canceling the Maxxis and just taking the Bridgestone they have in stock for $86.

The price is high ,but its the only place that has that size in stock that I know of ,and im off work until Jan 2nd so I really want to ride!!

Forget throwing that Bridgestone on. Quite often different manufacturers tires are different sizes in the real world despite what the sidewall says. I agree if you have the cash just get a matched set of 6-plys and hopefully you won't get any more flats. Out of curiosity, what model and ply are the stockers? Supposedly they are a quality tire, so maybe you just had a bit of bad luck?

no even i would not repair that. i would wait it out, or replace the the 2 rear tires, but i have to agree at 86 bucks, its worth it to go to 2 after market rear tires for the same price

For that much, I would get the terracross radials. I like the way they look and they come in 25's now, but you will need 12 inch wheels.
