hay i just got a hrc kit for my 05 450r and being that im a mechanic on light & heavy trucks for the past 18-19 yrs is thear a tdc mark or timing mark to go by or will i just roll motor over til intake & exhaust valves are closed ? to adjust rocker arms vea valve clrearance intake=0.006 exhaust=0.011 in i would think it should be at the flywheel for the timing marks? on the motors i work on you would roll motor over till you see the timing letters on the cam gear 1a= adjust #1&3 cylinders 2b= adjust #2&4 and so on but im talking 500hp inline 6 diesel motor. just need a little info on valve adjustment and i know the 450r runs lean and hot do ya thank i should change pilot jet to? #45 ?? thanks

well, im guessing that to bump a 450 up to a 577 thats gotta be a stroker, and a big stroke increase it sounds like. the way to make HP is to be able to rev, why do you think a lightly modded 2 liter honda can have comprable HP numbers to a 7.3 diesel. redline is over twice as high. torque is nowhere near equivelant but nowhere in here are the TQ numbers of the quads or where these power numbers are made at. Ft/lbs*RPM/5252=HP.
so that 577 probably cant rev like a stock 450, or just a simple BB. so maybe it would be faster overall and make more HP at any given RPM than the other bike but not have a higher peak HP number.
not Im not saying BB/high CR/P&P/CAM will lay down 68 to the wheels cuz I have no idea, but it would be nice cuz I want a 450 bad and if I can get that much power out of it then hell yeah.

the 06 hrc kit is alot diff then the 05. i put the hrc kit in after i broke it in. and i have ridden over 90 hours on a piston. when i do a rebuid i will do valves piston rings, thats it. as for horse power you prob gained 5 horses. buy the hrc cam and you will be happy and reliable. just change your oil every ride or soon as it has a hint of black, and clean your air filter even if it isnt dirty every ride. and you will be able to put alot of hours on your motor. i have done alot of drag racing, duning , big hill climbs and it fires up everytime and doesnt burn oil. Honda is the only way to go. Honda for Life if you have any other questions let me know
