Default 05 Honda Rancher 4x4 ES FULL TIME 4x4 OR NOT?

I am going to look at a 2005 Honda Rancher 4x4 ES tonight and Honda told me the 05 4x4 es was a Full Time 4x4. Is it full time 4x4 or is there a 2wd 4wd selector on it. Why would this be a full time 4x4? So is just the automatic have the selector? Thanks

All the Rancher 350's (pre 07) are full-time 4wd. That however is easy to fix with a Warn 424...which I highly recommend!

A fair number of posts in here lately about troubles with the ES shifting system, so think about that one before you make your purchase. Some components of the ES system are the subject of a recall....not sure if yours would be included.

Well we just looked at It and purchased It tonight and will pick It up tomorrow. It is a 2005 Honda Rancher 350 ES 4x4 with 37 Hours and 198 Miles for only $3500 and It is in perfect Condition and It Included a 2500IBS Warn ATV Winch. Got a pretty good deal. I have read all the problems that have been brougt up and how to resolve them so I should be pretty good off. Thanks

I would do an oil and oil filter change before I rode it. Who knows how the previous owner actually treated it???? With only 37 hours on it, it might even be the original break-in oil???

Same with the front differential and rear drive gear case. I would do a valve adjustment as well, then you will be starting off with a fresh machine.....
