wanting a honda foreman
#1
i am looking for a new honda foreman at a really good price. I live in charlotte, nc but i dont mind driving if i find a good deal. I have found a really good price in my opinion at Southern Honda in TN. I was wondering if anyone has delt with these guys and if they are truley the cheapest around. I have also been told that there price listed on there website is the out-the-door price but i havnt actually talked to them. Does anyone have any input on this??

I bought mine at Ritchie in Athens, TN. Ritchie, Southern, and Abernathy's all all within a few dollars of each other.
Ritchie
I can't speak for Abernathy's or Southern, but Ritchie was the legit. The price they quoted was the price I paid and they did not try to up-sell me on anything.

Please don't take this the wrong way.
I'm a Honda owner and I know just how durable these machines are.
But why do you want a Foreman?
Why would you not be considering a King Quad, Grizzly, AC, Sportsman, an Outlander or a Rincon? All of these are also very reliable and according to the users on this forum are far superior in terms of ride and performance. The Foreman has a poor suspension, no locker and drum brakes!
Just curious.

my buddy bought a foreman and and i been riding it and kinda fell in love with it. my dad had a 2002 yamaha grizzly 660 and i cant really tell the difference in the power between the foreman and it. the price difference is between 1500-2000 dollars more for the grizzly. i have also heard alot of good things about the honda products but i still would consider a grizz if it was cheaper

Your dad better get his 660 looked at because the power differance over a 500 Foreman is massive . Even in the 500 class the foreman is far from the top in power.500 utitiy comparison.

its also been a while since i rode it too and the foreman that my buddy has has got some mods done to it giving it more power. dont get me wrong but the power between the grizz and the foreman isnt worth the 2000 price difference im sitting at right now. i loved the grizz and yeah it was a 2002 so it has been a good while since i rode it cause he sold it two years ago. so maybe the difference is much bigger since this is the biggest quad ive ridden since the grizz. but the way im taking it is the honda foreman isnt the best choice? wat is other options that are in the mid $5,000 range like the foreman?

Keep in mind that as long as the OEMs keep building bigger engines, more of what we have now will be considered obsolete tomorrow by those own the newest and biggest thing.
Now that AC has a 1000,...does that make all our 700s and 750s obsolete and "down on power"?? I dont think so being as how we all did well for 20 years with machines under 400cc!!!
If running tires larger than 27", or if you feel you ride in places often that you need diff lock, or if you feel that you must run 60mph on the topend....then I would say that the Foreman 500 is a poor choice.
But if neither 3 issues is a problem, you would be plenty happy with the 500.

I bought my Foreman 500 4x4 ES at Southern for the best price I could find. I've had it for a year, flawless so far, I just ride and don't worry about walking back to the truck as I've done with other bikes. There are some other nice machines out there but they nearly twice as high, for $4,683 nothing can compare, the closest would be the 420 Rancher 4x4.
