Hey guys,

There is a big group of us planning a riding trip to the Porcupine Mountains up Michigan's Upper Peninsula, but none of us really know the limits of our gas tanks. I know it is impossible to put an exact number on how many miles we can get out of a full tank because of the amount of variables, but I would like to get an idea so we can plan the trip a little better.

It probably won't be fast riding, just slow cruising more than anything. It will be through some mountains, so I expect a lot of hills....but like I said, just slow cruising more than anything.

I posted the same thing in the Yamaha forum about my two Yamaha's, but I need to get an idea on my parent's quads too.

My dads machine is a 05 foreman 500 4x4, and my moms is a 2002 rancher 350 4x2....are we looking at something around 30 miles per tank, or closer to 100 or more?

 

around a hundred. on my rancher back when it was stock i got around 120 miles per tank.

 

I have ridden my 4X4 Rancher 350 close to 100 miles on a tank. The 2X4 Rancher is geared taller than the 4X4, so it should get better mileage.

Just carry some extra gas if you aren't sure....

Thats the plan, Cabelas has the little thin gas tanks that mount to the racks...I will probably put on on my girls quad, and my dad will probably put one on his.
Plus one guy in the group will have a yamaha rhino, so Im sure he will carry some extra supplies.

 

My reply may not be applicable as I have a 2005 Rubicon, but under differing riding conditons my MPG has ranged from 20 to 25 MPG. I have always run out of daylight before running out of gas.
