2005 Foreman Clock won't stay set!!
 

I just bought a 2005 Foreman ES with 1500 Km on it, There was condinsation inside the display. I took it apart and dried it all out. looks good now.
One problem... (which may have existed before I dried out the display, couldn't see clearly through the condensation) when the ignition is turned off, and then back on,the clock flashes 1:00 and the "oil change" lites up.
It doesn't seem to effect anything else (shifting etc.). Mind you, I don't have any run time on it yet.
I was surprised at the amount of water in the console, about 10-15 drops. I know the previous owner, he's not a deep water runner. I suspect it got there via pressure washer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I was going to guess that it was a weak battery, but if you're not having having problems starting, or ES shifting, the battery sounds OK, but I would still check the battery voltage just to make sure.

Assuming the battery is OK, the invading moisture/water is likely the culprit as you thought. Sounds like what happens when liquid is spilled on the keyboard of a laptop computer. I would take the cover off the 'meter' for a few days and let it dry as much as possible. If this does no good, I'd try using a hair dryer set on low heat to further induce drying.

Did something in the meter housing get cracked?

I kind of thought those were moulded together, sealed, and didn't come apart?

There are about 10 small screws that attach the two halves of the speedo housing together
(lens to back). There are also two small drains holes approx 1/16" about 5/8" up from the bottom
of the back housing. the water couldn't drain any lower than the holes!!
I think that water entered through these holes. Battery voltage is good, everything else woeks fine
I have ordered a service manual and will seel which of the wires supplies constant voltage to the panel
and see if I can trace the problem from there.

Interesting. I guess I've only had the one out of the Rincon, and it appeared moulded together...

Moisture problem solved
 

It took a few years but I fould the culprit.
One of the rubber buttons on the speedo display wasnt sealed properly.
When I had the display apart I could blow air past the rubber button.
A little silicone and four years of taking the display apart and its good as gold.
Nothing to do with the drain holes (except the location of them could be better)
Be aware, If your display is cloudy on cool days and the moisture disappears on sunny days
there could be water sitting in the bottom of it.
If left in there it could cause problems with the pc board.
