I adjusted the idle and it's better but not quite where I want it yet. I think I may have to adjust the mixture a little bit.

Did you clean the carb and adjust the valves if they seem to be loud rattling.I had a problem once when it would'nt idle and went paid some one to check it and it had trash in the carb thats about all i have ever had problems with mine and ive had it since 2000.But if you keep adjusting you might get it ,the person before you might have messed up something or got it out of wack somehow and now you have the job of finding it if you look around on here on this site you mite find something that will help you i have found lot of info on here by just doing a search.

Yea, I'm going to keep tinkering with it. I have a guy helping me that knows a lot about this stuff so first I'm going to try adjusting the mixture like he explained. If that doesn't work I think the next step is cleaning the carb. Not sure how easy or difficult that is but I would prefer to do it myself and save the money as well as learn a thing or two.

When i cleaned mine it was'nt really hard just make sure you watch for the little parts if you take it completly apart i did'nt i just removed the air filter box and got me some carb cleaner and sprayed the heck out of it and then went and got some high test gas and ran it seemed to work.Im like you this was all new to me and i didn't want to pay someone if i didn't have to its not that hard becareful of those little black things that hold every thing in place they are a pain to get out and to go back some don't even want to go back. Some will say you have to take it completly apart the most i would do for right now is like i said and if that does'nt do it then you may have to get into it.But when you remove the box you will see its not that bad.If i can help i will as much as possible i understand.
