Default honda rancher 350 FE 4x4 2002 shifting problem

hello web surfers. i have a rancher 350 FE and i have a shifting problem. it all started when my dash burned up. i replaced it with a new one. then that when it all started. see u can be riding for awhile and as long as u don't get above a certian rpm ur good. but once u pass that certian rpm then ur not able to shift. so then u have to turn it off and back on to shift down or up. so then my local shop told me to replace the angle sensor in the front. so i did. and it still wont work. so atv connection can u help me? thanks Justyn Dean, Brancheland, WV

When it happens, does the gear position indicator blink a code? If it starts blinking, count the number of blinks between "---"s. This will give us an indication of the code being set....

nope nothing my dash only reads how many hours it has and the time. thats all it does. the mph, the mileage, or the shift gear indicator . none of them shows up.

I agree - the most common cause for "u can be riding for awhile and as long as u don't get above a certian rpm ur good. but once u pass that certian rpm then ur not able to shift. so then u have to turn it off and back on to shift down or up" problem is lack of input from the Speed Sensor.
