Well, it now seems true - and I think I have proof - that Honda is beginning to copy Polaris. I just bought a brand new 2000 model Honda XR400R dirt bike, and in less than 10 minutes, something on it broke (the odometer drive cable).

I've heard second, third, and fourth hand stories about things like this, but it's the first time I've ever personally seen a brand new Honda with a parts failure.

C'mon, Honda! Quit copying Polaris!

OH WAIT! I almost forgot the worst part! The dealer didn't have a new cable in stock, so I had to wait TWO WHOLE DAYS for a replacement!

Slade,
My two friends have 300EX's. Fine machines they are, but no Scrambler. Not even close.
Also, if we Americans knew you were going to down an American company like Polaris we wouldn't have saved your French/ Canadian a** in WWII

I think Canada joined the US and other Allied nations saving France in WWII; however, Canada fortunately wasn't threatened.

If Canada HAD been threatened, the US doubtless would have come to her aid, even if we knew Slade might someday bash Polaris, bilingually!

Hey Polaris guys! Check out this months issue of Four Wheel ATV Action. There is an article about the 2000 300EX. It rates it as this years #1 trail quad. Yes over the 400EX and your Polaris machines. Why? Well its plain and simple.
First at only 370lbs wet weight, it is easy to toss around.(I weight 160lbs, and with me on my quad, I still weight less than just your Polaris machine).
Second, the weight is balanced perfectly. Great for jumps and wheelies and very perdictable handling.
Third, the smaller wheel base. It allows you to get through the tighter spots faster.
Fourth, great suspension and chassis design. It takes a 6 foot drop to bottom the suspension on the EX. Not happening on the Polaris models.
Check out the article yourself. True that on logging roads and big strait aways. The scrambler and sport are faster in a stait line. But in the woods, it's no comparision.
(you also win in the mud).
I'm not making it up, it's right there in the article. Read it yourself.
And as far as the big air Polaris wheelies. I would like to see that. Lifting the front end up about 6 inches and for one micro second doesen't count as a wheelie. The reverse one interests me though.

If I could ever stop my Pop, I'd get a chance to Yama-hop.

Tree Farmer,
The reason Canada wasn't attacked is because you have millions of people in the US with a gun ratio of more than one per person. You wouldn't fight the military, you would have to fight every guy in the whole damn U.S. Canada is lucky enough to have us as a great neighbor
As for the 300EX being a better trail machine I'll keep my Scrambler. I ride with a couple of 300EX's and they are good in the woods & all but I've never been left behind. As far as Polaris's weighing sooo much, just use some muscle. Plus the 300EX feels like a power wheels toy it is so little, like a Blaster... I couldn't be that cramped up on a quad. (5'10" 180 lbs) I'm not big I'd just like to not have the handlebars laying on my knees. Plus a 300EX reverse is kind of a pain to use. Now... What the hell is the deal with people thinking a Polaris won't do a wheelie???? When you have that kind of power who needs a clutch to pop the front end up??? Actually when I race someone it's really a pain in the butt trying to keep the front end down.
