no the pulse generator is attached to the stator in the assembly,its about 30 bucks brand new,trust me it sounds like your problem and would bet money its bad. you can check by removing crankcase cover and using a multi meter to check for continuity and resistance. let me know if you need more help,would be glad to

 

Yeah Im Having Trouble Finding Im Looking at Diagrams on Honda And am unsure so far

 

ok,look on the altenator diagram. look where the stator is,then there should be two wires and a ground off the stator to what looks like a little square box,about a 1 inch by 1 inch roughly. i use bikebandit.com for diagrams and parts,theirs are super easy to read,let me know if you need more help.
