i agree with that, the atc's look like a blast on the dunes, i would love to ride one there sometime. The riding i do is better suited with 4 wheels which is why i recommend the trx. to each his own.

Ya i have a 4x4 quad for trail riding!! and 3 wheelers for the dunes! I am way more into the dunes lately! I got stuck with my quad in snow and about 4 hours later somebody comes up the road and takes me to my buddys then we went and rescued my quad!! That dosent happen at the dunes lol!!! i do go trail riding at riding areas!!!
but i hate going riding way back in the woods for that reason!!!

Yes, Honda switched to liquid cooling on the '85 model year. It is the same motor for '86 and I am pretty sure also the '86/'87 TRX motor is also the same.

You are correct. '86/87 is the same. The head gasket was a little thicker on the 250R quads to lower compression and I believe it was the 86 that had a long rod version and short rod version.

The 83 is a much better deal $1500 for a stock 85 is stupidity at its finest.

Get the 1983, it sounds like it has a lot more put into it, the owner that had my quad didn't do any aftermarket and it is still reliable, it just isn't as fast as I would like. My freind got a nice quad though and he hasn't had any trouble with it and he abuses the hell out of it.
