Default Honda Recon 250 Wheels/Tires

Im looking to upgrade some aftermarket wheels and tires on a 2002 Honda Recon 250es.

I just purchased this unit for the wife and would like to "spruce" up its appearance.

The obvious here...Im new to ATV's and while searching the different parts sites, Im having a hard time finding the exact applications. (Same size as the specs in manual) Does anyone know of the different size applications will work? --or-- Any recomendations of a site to purchase from?

Thanks in advance!

Don't load this little peach down with some monster tires and/or rims....you will just ruin its sweet handling!

Back when I had a Recon 10 years ago, I wore out the original set of tires and went looking for some new ones. Know what I ended up with? Another set of stock tires! They were the best I could find...and I never felt like I needed anythig else.

Find someone who has an older Yamaha Wolverine set of rims/tires, years back when my son rode a Recon, I put my 12" rim,23" tire stock set up on it after I got a new set of rims and tires for my 95 Wolverine. The bolt pattern was the same, and the bigger rims looked awesome, 23" is barely bigger than stock, and with the lower profile tires, it handles great, no "balloon" tires on 8 or 9 inch rims. The stock Dunlop tread will not suck power, and is about the same weight as the stock set up, unless it has aluminum rims. Just something to think about, in case you know anyone with some rims/tires for sale. As long as the bolt pattern is 110x4, and the offset is similar, experiment, you may like what you do !!!

Default Thanks!

Thanks to both for the advice. I will consider both points..

I do not plan to keep it very long anyways... The plan is to trade up as soon as the budget will allow, but until then... a little extra "style" would help keep the wifes interest in our new found sport/hobby! (or so I hope)

Thanks again,
VK

find some rancher 420 pulloffs. the 24" tires fit and ride well. I have them on my wifes recon and she loves them. The extra ground clearence is nice.

I recommend a 12" rim and either some swamp foxes like the one above or some gators
