You would have been a lot better starting a new posting than adding to a 9 year old one about tyres. The 250 has only one CDI, I would guess that you are mistaking the oil alert "black box" or the voltage regulator for a CDI.
The 250 was one of the last Hondas to have the separate exciter coil on the alternator, start by checking that this is producing a healthy AC voltage when the engine is spun on the starter. Then check the trigger coil is producing an AC pulse, usually a lot smaller voltage, may even be less than 1v. Hondas usually have a device that increases spark strength when in neutral, wired between the neutral light and CDI, check this is working. Check the kill wire is working. If you want to check everything properly, buying a workshop manual is a good idea. Never just fit a new CDI, as the old one may have blown because of a fault somewhere else, a good earth to it is vital or the new CDI will blow and, once running, always check the voltage regulator isn't overcharging, or it may blow the new CDI. |
