Default 300ex carburetor slide question

Hello,

I just rebuilt my 300ex carb with a factory rebuild kit, and I have a question about the carb slide itself:

Should the whole slide (the part the houses the needle jet) move back to its original position when the throttle is let go, or should it remain in the raised position?

Mine slides up in its bore just fine, but will not return to the lower position. Is this correct?

Thanks!

The slide should raise & lower with the thumb throttle .. I would check that the slide moves freely up/down throttle cable removed , if it still doesn't close check the throttle return spring on the throttle shaft ..

Default Fixed!

Hello. Thanks for the reply. I worked on it a bit this evening, and got the slide to return. The linkage and bore needed a bit of lube.
