i own a STOCK '88 250R which i purchased
4 months ago.this machine is in very good condition(working headlight & tailight, stock throttle, exhaust, silencer and all)and i am pleased w/ its performance.this is my first atv in about 6 years,i have been racing honda cr 250s for the past 7 years. my question is : is it worh the $$$ to buy a new 400 or put it into my R ? i plan on racing hare scrambles (JUST FOR FUN)and hard play riding.how do the two machins compare?are parts for the R going to become,if not already, obsolete? ive heard rumors of the 400's frame cracking, any truth?? i am happy w/ what i have could i be happier? ------------------ |
I would definatly put the money into the R. It is a better racing bike the the 400ex. The R is probably the best quad ever made.

Do the R.

If I was in your situation I would modify the 250R. I didn't have one, so I bought a 400EX. I am not disapointed, but I think the lighter weight 250R is the better racing machine.

If I were you I would put the money into the R. I'm not sure if its true but I have heard that the R is quicker lighter more powerful and just all around better for racing and jumping. I have an 88 R And I whip ex's all of the time.

THANKS EVERYONE! I'M GOING TO KEEP MY R,
BUT THOSE 400'S SURE ARE PRETTY!!! |
