Honda 250EX redesign and model changes...
 

Hi, I'm looking to buy a Honda 250EX or as it is now called, the 250X.

I think it came out in 2001 and got a re-design in 2006 what was just new plastic. Am I missing anything?

Are there any mechanical differences noted thought the years that makes one better than the other?

Did the 2001-2005 model have the sport clutch, or just the 2006-2009?

Is there a gearing/power difference between the two generations?

In the 06 change-over they went to bigger shocks (diameter only).....newer plastics.....and the sport clutch.

The 01 to 05 did NOT have the sport clutch.....just your average foot shift auto clutch.

No gearing/power differences or any other differences (other then whats noted above) exists.....that I know of.

Aaron is right. I will also add that in 06 the 250EX finally got a brake light. lol.

01-05 came in red or yellow...automatic clutch
06-09 came in red or black....sport clutch
