1997 300ex sputtering at half to full throttle
HELP PLEASE
Have a 300ex has great bottom end but at half to full throttle it sputters like its limited, I can hold down on the reverse lever and it stops sputtering, is this the reverse inhibitor or something different, does anyone know what happens when you have a bad reverse inhibitor,,, Thanks for any help,. |
Got a Quick Fix
Grounded the wire on the right side behind the black cover one says N the one toward the front says R unplugged the R stuck a ground wire in the plug then grounded to the frame. Stopped all sputtering at half to full throttle, plus there is no limiter holding back reverse, can actually spin the tires in reverse, only down side is no reverse or neutral light, Still not sure if its the inhibitor that was causing the sputter, guess maybe it was cause basically I just bypassed the inhibitor.

This must be a common thing because I am having electrical issues and noticed someone has grounded that wire on mine.

Yeah, from what im told if you buy a aftermarket CDI for more RPMs that does away with the reverse inhibitor also, like I said now it runs great, Plenty of bottom end and now that it has been jetted it really kicks it on top end as well.
