i just completelyrebuilt an 86 lt250r. It had DG pipe and that was the only mod on it. I raced my friends 400ex w/ lid off and KN airfilter and would rip him off the start but would catch up a little bit but never beat me. A Banshees would smoke me on my quad so i dont think there is any way that a modified 440ex could hang with a modified babshee. Thats why i sold that and got a 500r. Unless u just wanna drag the 440ex is best over all

If you want to call dirt limited traction, so be it. I will admit, I have never raced a Banshee on concrete or asphalt. You got me there.

 

I've witnessed dyno runs at the nationals of 440's turning 40's for HP.

 

Many of you are comparing heavily modded Banshees with a 440EX. I would just like it to compete with a piped Banshee. I definatly know a two stroke rules in the drags thats why I own a Tecate 4 and it will beat my 400EX. I bought the EX mainly for trails and MX riding but I just don't want this machine to get creamed by the Banshees or Raptor when I take it to the drags.

 

I can tell you exactly which one will win. Whatever bike I am riding!

Its all about rider skill, I can make my stock banshee keep up with 400ex's, on trails. Yes. I can actually win trail races against 4 strokes on my non-handling, no bottom end, 2 stroke banshee.

I would like to know what makes you guys think that these bikes are all in the same class. The 400ex is the largest ATV that honda builds, But it is by no means in the superbike class of ATV's The banshee and raptor both fall into the same class, Given that they are both in a +500cc class (2 stroke 350cc is like a 550-700cc 4 stroke) The 400ex is an awsome bike, It is also extremely fast for a 400 4 stroke. If you want to compare it to something, Try the warrior or the scrambler.

 

oh please,compare the a 400 ex to a warrior or scrambler?i owned a warrior and ate a scrambler 500 for supper on my stock 400 ex.they aren't in near the same class.it is by no means an atv superbike like the raptor or banshee?then why does a modified 400 ex always win shootouts vs. these large displacement quads?you can say" oh yeah, it takes a modified 400 ex to beat a stock banshee or raptor"right?well if you put the price difference worth of mods into a 400 ex then you are spending the same amount of $$$ for a better quad!!!now, if you think displacement is everything then why don't you put a 250r up against your massive displacement quads like the raptor and banshee and see who will come out on top!!!!i'll put my little 440 ex up against a banshee or raptor any day of the week!!!but the real question is,do you have any clue what you are talking about?
