The rinny is tall geared and not meant to compete in the HP wars but it should turn 27's ok.

You generally loose a lot of power and/or end up with a rich mixture with a snorkel due to the restriction. Put the airbox to stock and see what happens.

Valve noise wise I'd start with checking the clearance. I have a how to video on utube under the same user name if you need.

Lastly a couple outfits make gear down kits for rinnys with big tires, but personally if I wanted to build a lifted, snorkeled bog tire mudder I'd base it on a different machine.

I removed the valve cover, made sure it was at top dead centre. Then adjusted the assymbly to factors specs. I had an adjuster you screw in with a screw driver and a nut that tightens it down to keep it in place. If im not mistaken the clearence is intake- 0.15mm exhauste- 0.33 mm. you will need a flat feeler gauge to adjust them as well

ok thanks i will give that a shot this video helps out much better.

My rear right cv busted over the weekend so i got to find one of them for s reasonable price. honda wants $232 for a new one which is nuts but i found a half shaft for like $80 bucks shipped on ebay which seems to be the cheapest way so far cause my otter is what busted the inner cv is stuff good i just cant get the dang thing to pop of the diff to inspect it.

Hi i adjusted the valves today but it still ticks im not even sure if i did it right cause theres play in the vavles. Should if have play in it or be kind tight on the rocker arms. It took me awhile to figger out the feller's it had a 0.15 but no 0.33 come to find out i had to read the other #'s that was posted in the service manuel i d/l

IN: 0.15 mm (0.006 inl

EX: 0.33 mm (0.013 i n)

So i went by the 0.006 and the 0.013 cause i couldnt find any that had 0.33 on it and i bought fellers from dif auto parts stores. So i set it to where it had some drag pullen out and tighten back up but it still has a tick when it runs. It sounds like its a little quiter but i didnt run it till it gets hot to see if it gets louder. Any ides? did i do something wrong.

Use two feeler gauges together that add to 33.

I dont know i read on other fourms about something called a honda tick i read alot of people has this ticking even on brand new ones even after valve adjustment so im assumeing thats probly whats wrong with mine they said not to worry about it as it wont hurt the 4wheeler. one guy even said if its not ticking then he knows theres something wrong or he wouldnt ride a honda unless it had the tick

Hondas do tend to make a little noise normally. If it's really making noise i'd look at the cam tensioner or possibly the decompression thing on the cam.
