'05 Rancher 350TE won't start... Help!
 

I just bought this a couple of days ago. It wasn't running... So here is what I have done:

-the oil was low (1/2 to 1 qt remaining) so I changed oil and filter
-checked plug; good spark
-went through the carb; didn't look too bad
-Oh yea, the gear indicator blinks "N" three times then pauses and repeats

I'm not familiar with the rancher... Is there any particular procedure for cranking?
Can anyone think of something obvious I'm missing? The quad has 6400+ miles on it, with the oil as low as it was, I was wondering about compression, it has some, I'm not sure how much. Does anyone know what it should be? Thanks in advance for your help.
