mx boots versus atv boots? whats the difference?
 

I'm gonna buy a pair of boots to.use with my 250x and I was looking at some Berik MX boots but then I saw that there were boots that are specifically for atvs... What's the difference and if got the MX boots is there any downside or nono about it?

MX boots typically have smooth soles and are a little taller. Since bike riders stick thier legs out in corners they need the smooth soles to slide in the dirt.

ATV boots typically have and agressive sole and the boots are shorter. Since sticking your leg out on a ATV is a big no-no and ATV's are often used more often in mud agressive soles are used.

Also because you sit more often on a ATV and stand up more on a bike shorter boots are often better on ATV's

HOWEVER, many ATV riders, including myself, use MX boots because typically they have better protection.

Yeah, the aggressive soles on ATV boots are for when you get stuck, you have traction on the soles to pull it out.

Okay I think I'm gonna go with the Beriks then cuz they fit me well and I've heard good things about them...

in my experience with mx boots (with my fox anyway)- they are not waterproof, the atv boots should be water proof-

yea- I only wear my mx boots when I know I won't be getting into any water- they are new- and I jumped off into a puddle maybe 3-4" deep- my feet were soaked in seconds :mad:

:lol::lol:...and my wolverines are worn jumping, mudding, racing, to restaurants ,and just about everywhere :nod:

haha I hear you tactical, I wear my redwings just about everywhere... but I want to get into racing quads and whatever other stupid stuff I can think of so I figured that real boots wouldn't be a bad idea.
have any of you guys heard anything about Berik boots? or have a particular favorite boot and why?
