Default Tire ? for 87 Honda 250 fourtrax

I bought a used 87 fourtrax today and I noticed that the tires had some dry rot to them but still had very good tread but missed that they were plugged two to three times per front tire. Here is my question I am short on funds at this time is it worth my time and can I have tubes put in the tires. I replaced one plug due to leaking. I don't really have $140 to put in the Honda at this time or in the next 3 months but I don't want to risk having a flat when I hunt and be stuck 2 to 3 miles in.

I'd say either tubes or fill them with tire sealant (like the green goop stuff). Not sure which way would be less $.

Tubes are not really cheap. You could try Slime. SLIME – Worldwide Leader in Tire Care – Repairing a flat tire? Slime Tire & Tube Sealant or call a tire shop and look for used ATV tires.

When I get my tires changed at a tire shop I never bring the old tires home, beats me what they do with the old tires but many still have some good miles left in them. The shop may sell them for next to nothing.

Yeah, tubes are not cheap either. Another option would be to have a tire shop put a patch on the inside of the tire.

I went with calling a local guy who had a back door shop and I paid for it. Long story short I got screwed out of $60 and am out functional tires he could not get the tires to seal on the rim. I am hoping that a friend who owns a service station can fix me up he is going to take the tires back off the rims, do some sanding and alot of bead seal and remount them.
