opinions on 250R ???
Usually hang around the polaris forum since I break them more then our Honda's. Anyway a co-worker of mine stated he may sell his 250R since he rarely rides it. A SxS and a new baby now he just doesn't use it. I havent talked to him in depth about the bike yet but i know he's had it since new as a teen.
He's the type of guy that takes care of his stuff since i have camped and spent quite a few weekends riding with him and ofcourse at work. He mentioned $1500 just in conversation. I have searched and found a multitude of prices. I think its a late 80s to early 90s bike thats garage kept. I've never seen this bike. I will contact him to go look at it in the next few days and want to be ready to buy if its right. Does this sound like a fair price? I would really like to add a 250R to my garage but not desperate to spend 3000 on a highly modified bike i want a classic bike. Any info and opinions appreciated. Thanks for reading. |
A running R for 1500 is a buy in my book. Bonus if it is good condition. Locally they generally run between 1500 and 2500, with the occasional built one being over 3k. They were only made from 86 to 89.

I should also add, your buddy will always pine over that machine and wish he had it back. An R has a way of getting into your soul.

Around here 2500 will get you a clean R.
