What was Hondas big annoucment that was supposed to take place a few days ago? 650EX? Anything at all?

In the June 2001 issue of All Terrain Vehicle magazine, there is mention of the 650EX for 2001.

I think the big announcement was the 4 stroke CR.

Dont count on a 650EX for atleast 2 or 3 more years. It just isnt goin to happen. Honda is doin just fine with the 400EX. They will put reverse on the 400 b4 they come out with a whole new design so soon.

Chris... You hope Honda doesnt come out with a 650EX! If they do, you know that your precious Raptor will be yesterdays news!

SykoQuadRider Apr 23, 2001 07:20 PM

I doubt it. Honda came out with the 400EX and it couldnt beat a shee so what makes u think a 650 will be better than a raptor

Riceburnin Apr 23, 2001 07:33 PM

honda didn't come out with the 400ex with plans of building a quad to beat a shee in a drag. How would a 4 stroke, 397cc motor beat a 350cc 2 stroke motor is similar weight?

But i guarantee if they do come out with the 650ex that it will smoke a raptor. A 400 isn't to far behind a raptor now.

But of course, yamaha will hop up the 660r motor then to compete. So its all good and keeps all the companies on their toes.

If Honda comes out with a 650EX, I'll have another quad in the garage. I've been in the market for another quad, but the 400 seems cramped to me, and I don't like the track record of the Raptor. I rode a DS650, but for the trails I frequently ride on, it's way too wide.
