When it comes to jumping- what is better for the landing... +1 or +2 a-arms. Does it make the landing softer?

...would a setup of longer shocks and longer a-arms make landings easier?

thanks for the input...

Surely someone has +1 or +2 A-arms...

by the way-... how much did you pay for your a-arms?

Thanks

I have +3 a-arms. Put it this way, the wider you are, the more stable you will be in turns, and also, if you jump a little crooked (ie; left side about 1 foot lower than the right side) you will land it easier. You probably should get new shocks if you get longer a-arms, and if you dont, it WILL make landing ALOT SOFTER, in fact probably too soft and you may bottom out sometimes.

Oh I paid $550 for mine, they are called batemens, I would recomend them.

go for +2 and get aftermarket shocks, you will need them if you are doin any jumps.

... what does the "PLUS" mean.

does a +2 mean 2 inches wider?...

--derekhonda-- why did you go with +3 and NOT +2?

Kbass Jun 30, 2001 02:58 AM

It mean 2" wider than stock.

+2" per side, meaning 4 inches wider than stock (or 6 inches for +3s)

I went with them because i have a very wide quad, the rearend was so much wider than my stock skinny front end, and it made it handle kinda like a three wheeler. So I got the widest ones i could find.

i know that they make a +2 wider and +1 forward a-arms. what would be the benefit of making it 1" forward?

derekhonda Jul 2, 2001 12:52 AM

Umm, i asked that question when i bought mine, they gave me an answer, not really sure what it was, but it wasnt good, especially not for trail riding, something about handling which is understandable. ANyone know for sure?

+1 A-arms lenghten the wheel base of the qaud.Giving it more stability.

I have JD performance +2 A-arms For the 88-89 250r or 400ex;The made the 88 A-arms +1 forward more than the 86-87's.So this means I have +1 +2 A-arms 1 inch forward.

The extra leverage from the A-arms makes the shocks alot softer.U will need to get some aftermarket shocks valved to your weight, riding style, and for the added width a-arms.

And for the +2 vs +1.I really don't C why U would just get +1 A-arms unless U ride in the woods alot to.

I paid 445 for my A-arms,and tie rods.
