What kind of four wheeler do you recommend?

i would also recomend a 300ex , if you do mud you can get some 24' mud tires and drop down to a 35 -36 tooth sprocket in the back and you will totally kik A$$ in the mud and jumping is good on the 300ex and also cruising is good because its somewhat fast and its got great suspension and handling . MY 250X (same as 300ex ) is 14 years old and it still kiks a$$ i can beat stock 300exs with it . dont get polarbus because they are for old people and mechanics , hahaha lol HONDA 300EX !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to HIGHLY suggest a Warrior. The reverse is NICE, the power is greeeeaaatt (for not being a HI-PO machine,) and they are awesome in the mud. The stock back tires suck, but w/ a $60 set of DirtDevils and some good practice you will be shocked at what they can do. I don't have allot of experience w/ other bikes, but have talked to and listened/read allot... the Mojave sounds like a really good machine, the 300EX is a good bike but lacks power (suspension is a little better than Warrior, but I can't notice it while trail riding) and FOR ME everything from Polaris sits too high.
Test ride as many as possible and go from there. Definitely don't buy anything you haven't ridden!!!
Almost forgot... most people say that the Warrior sucks for jumping, but I think that all depends on what kind of jumping you like... I have had some pretty big air (well I thought so anyway) and landed it smooth as can be... but once I was just clearing the 1st half of a double so I was up about 10ft. and dropped straight down... that time I bottomed out everything and smacked my head off the handlebars.... like I said... ride them ALL, then decide.

I think the recon is awesome..but the guy that is askin my opinion is 6+ ft. so i don't know if he would think the recon is to small or not, but the recon is a great bike for all that stuff. I'm going to let him read this page and he can decide..

when i first read this, the first quad i thought of was recon. the second one i thought of was the lakota. not the lakota sport, just the lakota. I actually think the lakota would do great. Its got good speed, good suspension, will jump just fine, and I would expect it to be decent in the mud although it isn't 4-wheel drive. The lakota is a sports utility quad. sounds like the best quad for you in my opinion.

First of all,get what you like the best.Sounds like a sport utility like a Yami Wolverine would be good for you.I would'nt recommend a Polaris, due to my experience with them.I did just get a used 99 450s and I LOVE IT.Power is a little down, yes a little but not as much as I expected, from my 500 sportsman. It is due to the gearing I think, the motor has gobs of torque,it loses it on the top end 52 mph is it,but I hardly get to rev it to it where I ride.I have had most makes,or ridden them, most here say Honda is behind the game, but I cant ride a broken down P.O.S.Honda does have the best fit, finish, and reliable quads on the market.Others like Yami,Kawi not far behind though.A Wolverine is a nice bike sporty, there again they will claim outdated, but it aint broke, why change it?GOOD LUCK

The Yamaha Wolverine 4X4 is a good union of sport and utility ATV. Any true sport bike is negligible in the mud at best, but the Wolverine does fair in both realms.
For a utility ATV with the ability to jump and cut up a little, the Rancher is an excellent bike and in the long run is a sound investment.
I can say from my experience that Polaris is not a quality machine, looks good on paper but in the real world they are unreliable.
