you ask about the recon? I love my Recon! I bought it in april and paid for it by myself, even tho i am only 14 yrs. old. I am a very satisfied customer of honda. the recon has alot of power for a 250, the powerplant is a torqy sideways engine, and with smooth suspension, very comfortable ergonomics, and proven reliability, this quad is the king to beat!
I can ride some very long and awesome wheelies with my recon. half the time out on the trails my front wheels are off the ground! i can get airborne well and do everything a sport quad can do! with the recon's light front end, i can get over and through some tough obstacles on the trails.i use my recon to haul firewood out of the woods, haul feed to cows on farm, pull trailer with stone, and lots of other work. I have added Maier handguards (red) onto mine and it helps out alot by taking the hits from branches instead of my knuckles. has anyone modified thier recon? the Honda TRX Recon 250 is the best and #1 quad in the 250 sport/utility class and possibly the best two wheel drive sport/utility quad out there! period. the only downside is that my starter button fell off in a creek, but it was covered under warranty.other than that no problems with reliability. recon is well worth buying. Cody Biddle-'99 Honda Recon. the wheelying machine.

I bought my '99 Recon brand new on April 1st.
I love the way it handles, and jumps really easy. Although, the suspension in not that of a 300EX! I am 30 years old, and weigh 187, and if I get some good air, it bottoms out everytime. I have also had a lot of problems with the carb. cutting out.(See my post entitled: '99 Recon carb. cutting out). Other than that, it is a great quad for the money. I have friends that have a 250 Mojave, 325 Polaris Magnum, and a Yamaha Blaster, and I can hang with all of them. Hope this is helpful to you........

The Recon is a very goo machine. So far will go anywhere the big machines will go and where the they can't go we can't either.
Dad bought one in July '98 and decided to get another in May '99.

Although they are his i still claim ownership for one.

My cousin has a 98 recon and has had no problems except the starter button fell off. He could also ride a wheelie a long way

It is my favorite Honda by far , if I could buy one just to play with I would. I have a customer who owns one and when he brings it by to service or goes riding with us I always get on it and try to see how far I can ride a wheelie on it. Great little Quad!!!

The Recon is the absolute best 2wd 250 class atv. If I were getting a quad in that price range I would probaly get the Recon. The only other quad as good a the Recon, for the price, is the Trail Boss 335. I almost Bought a Recon but I decided it was alittle to small for me. So I got something with alittle more power, an Arctic Cat 500.

I purchases a 99 Recon slightly used a couple of months ago. I like it fine. It seems very dependable and of course has the Honda feel. One problem, however, a lot of vibration. I've been told its normal. Anyone else notice this, is it common to all Recons?

Thanks Hank Hankark@wans.net

I bought one for my wife and we like it. It does vibrate but overall, it is great. The only problem I have had is it is very cold blooded. It is now in the dealer for the first service and hopefully they can adjust the carb to make it better. All my Hondas have been cold blooded, but nothing like this. It wouldn't even idle with the choke on until it completely warmed-up. Wondering if anyone else has this problem?

i have a 1998 Honda Recon, it is the best machine i have ever had! Its snappy, powerful, versitle, and can really wheelie. With mine i have a 1500superwinch hitch, cycle country plow, fan assist cooling. I added the fan because at high rpms at a slow speed it can get pritty hot, especially when plowing snow. I do a lot of creek riding, and just blows away my friends bear tracker, its faster, handles better, and just looks better! I havent had a single problem with my recon except in the winter it is really cold blooded, but ounce you get it moven it works fine.
