this is what i was told for break-in:

first tank of gas: easy on the gas with 1/2 throttle bursts here and there.
second tank of gas: 1/2 throttle with 3/4 throttle bursts here and there.
third tank of gas: 3/4 throttle with full throttle bursts here and there.
fourth tank of gas: have at it!!!

during this break-in process stay away from going one speed for a period of time. i believe the letting off of the gas is what cools the inside of the motor.

If your worried about breaking in that new Yellow 400EX I could do it for you. I would even change the oil after the first days riding. Chet

Hey RAPTORYFM660r and swytak... where are y'all at? I don't know where either of your cities are? I live in Warsaw now, and grew up in Connersville so I am fairly knowledgable of central and northern Indiana... and of course I am always looking for places to ride. Never ridden the Badlands, would live at Haspins if they would let me, and don't know of any place in the northern part of the state to ride (not even friends or family property.)

Woodwarrior,

I'll keep you in the loop. I typically go to the Badlands twice a month but, have been modifying my quad lately. Drop me an e-mail at j.bikoff@icindustries.com and I will be sure to e-mail you next time we go.

I would be about 6 hours away from where you live. We are so far down in Indiana that we are almost in Kentucky. We are in rural Pike county. Plenty of places to ride. Lots of mined/stripper pit areas. The rock roads here are even fair game as long as you have off/road numbers on your machines. Chet
