What is the typical price range on 250r's. I'm looking at an 89, slightly modified, it's in pretty good shape, What's it worth? Thanks.

You need to look closely at the frame for cracks. Check where the swingarm bolt goes through, and remove the front plastic (easy) to check around where the steering stem mounts.
Also ask if the bottom end ( crank bearing's , crank etc ) have ever been replaced. I keep reciepts of everything I have done on mine.
I would rather shuck out 4 grand for a good clean R than any thing new that is available right now.
I like the longer swingarm on the 86/87 over the 88/89 but the Aluminum on the later ones can be polished to look like chrome.

yeah, I'll definetly look for cracks, and see if the guy has any reciepts for any of the rebuilds if any. Hopefully I'm going to look at today. Thanks for the help.

also check for cracks abound where the pegs get bolted to the frame, and when his last engine rebuild was, and last time he replaced the engine seals, gaskets, and bearings in the motor

ASk what bore the cylinder is on IN MILIMETERS 66mm is stock bore.

If the cylinder was bored to many times, you may be in for a bg surprise when you go to do a top end job. (you may need to buy a new cylinder or get a new sleeve put in)so make sure you ask him what bore it is on, anything over 67.50 may blow head gaskets, unless you have a stainless ring around the head.

hope this helps
