Has anyone installed and tried out HighLifter's unlocker yet, I have one on order for my Rubicon and would like some comments.
|
I have tried both the Gearless Locker and the Un-Locker. The Gearless is the greatest addition to my quad. The Un-Locker hasnt been released yet, but it is very nice. I have riden with the prototype many times now and like it alot.

Hey TEXMud maybe I'm not calling it by the right name, it allows a full time 4 wheel drive like the Rubicon to be able to run in two wheel drive and switch back and forth allowing more horsepower and easier steering. Sorry for the confusin, our local Honda dealer says he has already installed 3 of them on new Rubicons he has sold.

Plunker,
I have a Rubicon and I have added the 2wd and 4wd Trak Loc system to mine. All the parts are from the 2002 450 Foreman. It all fits perfect and works great.I have about 300kms on the machine since I added this,it makes the bike alot of fun to ride. |
That is the High Lifter Un-Locker that you are describing. I would be very skeptical of your dealer if he says he has them. I am very good friends with the owner of High Lifter, and I am 100% sure its not out. When it does come out it will be for the Foreman 450 first and the Rubicon to follow.

Hey Tex,
What the hell are they waiting for? The unlocker was supposed to be released by late summer last year. Something has to be wrong to have delayed it this long. Douglass, Do you know if that traxlock you had put on your Rubicon would fit on the Rancher. If you could find out that would be great. I would rather have somthing factory installed instead of an after market product. Thanks Guys |
Is this trak lock , an unlocker of 4 wheel drive????
If so Where did you get it and is it only out on the market for honda's??? I have been waiting for Highlifter's unlocker, but it seems it will be awhile.... |
As with any product they make they want to be 100% sure its right. They have sent many changes to Detroit for fixing and have continued to receive prototypes. I think they have sent off the final design, but I'm not positive.

I would guess he is using the kit sold by WWW.Dirtyhowies.com
It is comprised of mostly factory Honda parts. It is available on his website now for Rubicons and will be available on Feb 15 for the older Foreman and Ranchers. |
Hogmaster,
The diffwill fit but I am not sure what has to be done about the drive shaft length. You may be able to us the original one. When I put the system in the Rubicon I bought the front drive shaft for the 2002 450es it fits great. The only change I had to make was grind a VERY small notch in the frame to make the Trax loc fit perfect.I also bought the switch from Honda. |
