Most Honda dealerships sell so many 400 EXs that they can rattle off the OTD price as if it were their middle name. Some will add a prep charge, some won't.

One of my riding buddies just bought a brand new 2002 in Corinth, Mississippi for $4799.00 No sales tax to out of state buyers, and no BS dealer add-on costs...

I found a left-over 2001 400ex that I just bought in December for $5247.65 OTD here at a dealership in Michigan.

Hey JPDraptor, I know out of staters dont haveto pay sales tax until you register it or tittle it or whatever, but do you really have to do that?

Derek

Every state is different on titling your machine. In Ohio, we didn't have to title them until 1999. My 98 Polaris that I bought new didn't have a title, but to get the registration renewed, I had to go through the titling process. If you want to ride on public property in Ohio, you have to register it and it must be titled to do that. Also, if you ever try and sell the machine, you will have to have it titled in order to transfer it to the new owner (the sale isn't legally complete in Ohio unless this is done). I would imagine that every state will eventually make you title them. The state of Ohio claims that it was done in order to cut down on the theft of them, but it was just really a tax scheme to get more sales tax dollars.

Derek, I don't know about any other state but we don't have to do anything here in Oklahoma. Ask your local dealer, he should be educated on the subject. But I wouldn't mention anything about buying it out of state...
