I lost my key like a dumba$$ and my neighbor and two other guys wanted to ride in the new fallen snow. We tried to touch the wires together after taking the lock cylinder apart. Of course, it wouldn't start. I just got a new key cylinder from Honda and plugged it in. Tried to start it and nothing. No neutral light or anything. What did I do ? Help?

Just a thought. Check to see if you didn't blow a fuse. I've done some wiring before and grounded a hot wire. Replaced the fuse under the seat and all is well.

Man, you wouldn't make much of an ATV thief! (smiley faces)
Kill switch? Not trying to be smart; been there, done that! If you don't have the kill switch disabling your ignition, tracing wires from the diagram in the service manual seems the next step. Shorting switch wires might not work when hot-wiring, the switch may provide a ground to the ignition circuit and neutral switch relay instead of "juice." (I have no evidence this is the case, just a possibility.) Good luck. Tree Farmer |
Got the new switch from Honda and nothing. Looked at the 15 amp fuses and replaced the blown one. Started like a champ. Thank you. Mike Mazza.
