Okay you all...which of these 2 bikes would win? A CR500 w/ Pipe,silencer,reeds, with a 220lb rider VS a XR650 w/ exhaust with a 340 lb rider..yes. 340 lb rider. My money is on the CR, but second question is which of these 2 bikes would win on regular condition?

How can we answer when you didnt give enough details? What kind of race? If a drag race how long? The longer the race the better the 650 i would think, on a track the 250 will eat it all dsay

In top speed the XR will Kill the CR, but on a track the CR rules- normal rideing the CR will have the XR up to about 80MPH then the XR comes alive

Put the same gearing on both bikes and the CR500 will eat it up.KX500 faster than the CR500.A CR500 with street gearing will toast a Interceptor 500 in a drag also.

As a Former 97 CR500 owner it would be pretty hard to convince me that the XR 650 is faster but at those speeds I might just back off and let that XR650 rider win. I know going down to kiss the dirt or pavement at those top end speeds its a life threatening situation.
I would rather be alive with my hide than with my pride.

There's no doubt in my mind the CR will out accelerate the XR

The CR is geared lower, Trailhog is correct- with the same gearbox gearing the CR would smoke over 150MPH! the XR just has taller gearing as a shift between 2-3rd on the XR is like going from 2nd to 4th on the CR!
