I have read a lot of stuff on the rincon, but I want to know what it has for a top speed! Dont' care about bottom-end all i care about is if it's faster then the kaw 650. Has anybody had the opportunity to find out??

mTymug 09-17-2002 03:40 PM

my buddys tops out bout 65mph. for that much money the damn thing should have tourque!! believe me it dont!!!!

The sp700 does 72mph (at least the one with us did) The rincon has lots of torque, if it can spin the tires in 2nd gear, remember it's only a 3 speed.

As posted in another thread, mine topped out at 57 on the beach.

57-65 thats pathetic I have been running my mouth for a year for nothing! I thought for sure the rincon would at least 70. Man it's hard being a Honda faithful sometimes.

You know I had a honda 300 4x4 in 1988 when it first came out. That thing would just about anything on asphalt. All the magazines at the time rated it behind other bikes. These speed number you guys are throwing out are they engine winding asphault numbers or mostly on dirt? Cause currently i have a sportman 500 HO and get 65 easy on pavement if I find a good hill I can almost get 70(estimating) I just don't want to believe the Rincon only goes 60-65. I'll never live it down if thats all it does

JUST A QUICK QUESTION, (I'M 44 SO NOT A KID ,BUT LIKE TO RIDE ON THE EDGE WHENEVER I CAN ,AND MY 22 YR OLD SON AND I DO JUST THAT) BUT MY QUESTION IS: If all you guy's worry about is speed then why don't you all ride ex's ,scramblers and raptors? MOST TRAILS THAT WE RIDE ONLY SUPPORT A CERTAIN SPEED,MEANING THAT THERE ARE INSTANCES WHEN YOU ARE AT THE EDGE OF OUT OF CONTROL. WE RIDE RANCHERS, BUT SOMETIMES TAKE THE 400EX'S AND IT'S BEEN MY EXPERIENCE THAT THE SPEED THAT YOU ARE OUT OF CONTROL IS STILL THE SAME.SO WHAT IS ALL THE HYPE ABOUT WITH, WHAT IS FASTER AND WHY IS KIND OF CHILDISH WHEN YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT THESE MACHINES. JUST LIKE ASKING IF YOU COULD GUESS THE OUTCOME OF A RACE BETWEEN A 400 EX AND A RECON . BEFORE YOU GUY'S CALL ME AN IDIOT, JUST THINK ABOUT WHAT I SAID FOR A MINUTE.... P.S. 61 MPH ON ASPHALT WITH THE ONE I RODE ,DOUBLE CHECKED WITH GARMIN GPS 12 THANKS HONRAN01

I bet I can hit 85 going down a good hill, haaaaa. What kind of test is that? I've hit some trails that I've been able to keep it at a rate of speed that would have made me white knuckled with a lesser machine. It handles great and it does it at it's full range of speed, something very few of the others can say about their machine, at least honestly.

In stock form the Rincon cannot top 66-67 mph. It is out of gear at that point. I am sure in time someone will do a CDI like Bearman is doing for the Kawi guys, but until then we are governed out.

BTW, I tested this no-load on a stand...

ostie 09-17-2002 11:47 PM

I was kidding about the 85 mph DieselPro, I thought it was silly of him to consider a down hill run as a top speed.
