Does the new Rancher AT have a low range?

YZGUY,
You are completly wrong here. The Rubicon does have a subtranny with seperate high, low, and reverse gears. You are thinking of the two modes for high gear which are called D1 and D2. That has ZERO effect while in low gear. Weight is not an issue.
The high low range is controlled by a subtranny with gears and does not affect the igintion at all.

The Rancher AT engine appears to be new, or at least, an upgraded version of the Foreman's engine. The new engine has a dry sump, and displaces 397cc's where the old engine was a wet sump at 395cc's. I would hope they upped the power and improved the top end, but we'll just have to wait and see.
To be honest, this is the quad I told Honda to make. I'm a big fan of the Hondamatic tranny and they included the traxlock feature and even got a bigger gas tank. I'm really wondering what they are going to sell for. The local dealer had Rubicons as low as $5,600. It would be something if the Rancher AT was more expensive.
