This is a project that Service Honda has been working on for over a year now.
It has been developed by the same guy who builds their CR500 AF which is a CR500 motor in a CR250 frame. It is just what dirt wheels says, a CR250 motor in a stock 400EX chassis. Last that I heard the guy building it says that it is very fast and it is hard to keep the front end down. A couple of neat things about it is that it has a forward kick start that honda is supplying the parts to make the mod work plus it will have a custom made radiator. I have not seen the bike yet but have talked to guys other than the builder who say that it is really trick. Last that I heard is that the bike is being sent ot Pro Curcuit for pipe work. Also as far as vibration goes, the only sign of vibration is in the pegs.

Will this thing ever hit the production lines?
Or the show room as a custom?

They are'nt the first to do this conversion and they won't be the last.

Prang,
How much did you lighten your flywheel and are you pleased with the result?

Well from what i heard this is supposed to be a great quad and will most likely go into production shortly. And stay in production untill 2 strokes are banded, if that ever happens. I also heard that it was not the cr250 motor but a 250r motor. That is what i heard, i may be completely wrong but i thought i would share it with ya.
