86 250R Cracked Case What's it worth
 

I have a 1986 TRX 250R with a cracked case. Quad runs and drives well, but motor leaks oil. Have tried to weld case, but I was unable to stop leak. I really don't want to JB Weld, but I would guess that would temporarily fix the problem. Plastic nothing great some cracks. Frame has no cracks and looks pretty good. What's she worth? I can e-mail pictures if needed tomorrow.

I'd hate to see you dump your machine just bacause you couldn't repair it . I'm a pretty good welder and can answer any questions you have about repairing it. I have seen several that cracked around the shifter housing, and a couple that have thrown rods, they can be complicated to fix , but not Impossable. the one thing you probably didn't look at, honda cases are seviced separetly you can buy just one side of your crank case at a time. Dave Moore can fix your case 1/2 just like new, but it might take a while on turnaround. His website is MotoMallUsa.com

I have bought 2 89 left 1/2's from Service Honda and have had good luck with them. The change is fairly easy, but I recommend if you're doing it yourself, get a Clymer manual. Other than that, my 89 was simple.

Thanks for the input guys. I may just keep it and fix it as I get extra $. I have been watching the left side cases on E-bay and I may just buy one and repair it myself. The bearing carrier has been replaced so the rear axle is tight and the frame is straight so I wasn't planning to give it away. Just wanted a fair asking price. P.S. The reason I am selling is because I found a clean stock 86' and I don't need 2. Thanks again for the input.
