Is your bike completely stock? Does it have a aftermarket pipe? If so which pipe? Whats your gearing?

250R....YAY!!!
38mm carb , pipe and filter and different sprocket combo. only $500 or so

A 38mm carb would probably starve some of his low end. I wouldn't go any bigger than a 36mm.

38 and 39's are common carbs to throw on a 250r, especialy the "airstryker" models. Is the motor fresh? check the compression with a compression tester, you should have at least 125psi in the cylinder, that's pretty much a stock number. You'll like it better with around 165-175psi in the cylinder, just have to run good gas with it.

If it is 125, there is something seriously wrong! ridered62; You should look into porting the motor, bumping up the compression, getting a bigger carb, and getting an aftermarket airfilter. This will improve the performance and power of the motor considerably. If you DO decide to get motor work done to it, be sure to take it to someone reputable. Take it to the wrong person, and they can really screw it up! |
