Well fellows wonder why Honda didn't put the torque sensing front end like on the rancher on the Rubicon instead of the AP front end that comes with the foreman if it is supposed to be the better limited slip front end...gee fellows the more I read about this bike the more I wonder why they are doing the things they are doing, has anybody heard why on this subject...

lovinhonda Apr 21, 2000 01:52 PM

I just talked to my honda dealer today and he said they are going to put on that sure trac front diff.

atving Apr 21, 2000 02:20 PM

Well this is what the Honda site says:

conventional belt-drive transmissions. Add in Honda's full-time four-wheel drive and torque-sensing front differential, and you have the most versatile ATV available anywhere.

And this is what the site listed as Moto world site the address is:
http://www.motorworld.com/news/news09_99/honda_atv.html

Here is what they say will be on the rubicon

The Foreman Rubicon features full-time four-wheel drive and an AP-type front differential that substantially reduces torque-steer for improved handling in all riding conditions.

So wonder who is right hope they do put the Rancher front end on being it is supposed to be the best...wonder how there could be two different statements somebody sure is wrong...

rancheres Apr 21, 2000 02:34 PM

Once again our man ATVING hasn't got the facts straight. Everything I've read says the rubicon is getting the ap front end.

lovinhonda Apr 21, 2000 02:40 PM

Well i don't now wair they got the statment of belt driven or limited slip front diff. Now as you probably all ready no AP front diff stands for
the thing on the rancher and no they are going to out a trany on it thats no other.

rancheres Apr 21, 2000 02:44 PM

no offense lovin honda but you need to do a little proofing of your grammer before you post! I have no clue what you are talking about??

atving Apr 21, 2000 02:46 PM

And as usual rancheres you didn't read my post correctly man what is your problem anyway...go to metacrawler or webferret and do a search for honda rubicon and see how many different sites are reporting different stuff, no I don't have my facts wrongs I am just relaying what I found gosh lighten up man...you need to widen your use of computers its called a search engine.

Meow! I think I'll wait for the "real" specs and reviews to come out before I get my panties in a bunch.

No more question. Here is the press release right off the HONDA site

04/17/00
Honda Introduces the FourTrax® Foreman® Rubicon™

This week, with the world's press on hand, Honda introduced its newest, largest and most powerful ATV, the Honda FourTrax Foreman Rubicon.

The Honda Rubicon is truly the "ultimate ATV". With a 499cc liquid-cooled, longitudinally mounted single-cylinder OHV four-stroke engine, the Rubicon packs a punch. And it delivers this power through the most revolutionary automatic transmission ever offered on an ATV - or any other vehicle, for that matter. The Rubicon features the all-new Hondamatic™, a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that harnesses the simplicity of hydraulic power with the legendary durability of a Honda. The Hondamatic is not only rugged, it is also compact and quiet, providing maintenance-free operation in a design that is impervious to external contaminants. To top it off, the Hondamatic offers true engine braking, unlike conventional belt-drive transmissions. Add in Honda's full-time four-wheel drive and torque-sensing front differential, and you have the most versatile ATV available anywhere.

The FourTrax Foreman Rubicon will be released to Honda motorcycle and ATV dealerships in June. The manufacturers suggested retail price is only $6,999.

Be sure to visit Honda's web site at www.hondamotorcycle.com on May 1st for more exciting information on the Honda Rubicon.

This will answer ALL your questions! No search engine is needed

I'll get off your a** when you quit trying to tear down something that isn't even out yet. I'll wait to call something junk until I have had the opportunity to test it myself.

I read your initial post just fine thank you, your title of the post pretty much sums it up. And guess what your wrong.
