I have comparisons of 400ex vs Raptor, Im selling the raptor.
I recently decided i was going to sell my raptor because i didnt feel like shelling out over 800$ to update a POS tranny. So a brand new 400ex was bought. I just got back from the coast. All i put on the 400ex were some Sand Tires Unlimited, Padla Brats. I actually like the stock 400ex better than my banshee beating raptor. I didnt realize hot heavy that raptor is untill i rode the 400 for a good amount of time. Handling is a million times better. The weight balance of the 400ex is perfect. I could do stuff that is not possible on the raptor.
The only thing i missed was the power. Loosing to all my freinds when dragging and cruising at top speed down the beach sucked. I think a little help from white bros and K&N will make it suitable. I dont like being slower than 250R's though. But i mainly like jumping, and the 400ex jumps great. I did get a little sideways and try to put the brake pedal through my shin, but some nerfs can fix that from happening again.

I had a 400EX for two years before I got my Raptor and anything I can do on the EX,I can do on the Raptor.
I love the EX still,and I think its more agile than my 660,but I would not prefer to have my EX over the 660.
If my EX had reverse,then possibly I would have just modded it heavily to make it faster instead of getting a Raptor.

I understand why you would get rid of the 01 rappy with the tranny problems.
But, its been my observation that the vast majority of people who have had problems with the 01 tranny had highly modified quads. I understand that many owners experienced problems when the bike was brand new, but those transmissions were replaced under warranty. just my thoughts.

I cut my airbox lid and put a "GYTR" pipe on it.. not highly modified by any means
