Default Mower problems please help

I have a 12horse Kawasaki engine on my commercial mower and right after i changed the oil and put a new muffler on it it started smokeing really bad and there is gas in the oil and oil in the carb. What could be the cause of this? I have no idea how i could possibly get oil into the carb. What could cause this? thanks

If you did only what you stated, my first guess would be that you overfilled the engine with oil.

overfilled engine? OR the float may be stuck this could let gas into the oil? Check the oil is it over full? Guess next step would be to changs oil/filter and go from there.

The gas in the oil i figured out was because the float was sticking. But what i dont understand is how could oil get into the carb. I just dont understand how that could happen.
