From 1944 to 1946 H&R manufactured a Model 65 Military for the USMC. This was a .22 LR, 10 shot mag., 23" barrel with a Redfield aperture rear sight. No indication of the number made. H&R started using the 300 series model numbers in 1965 as near as I can tell. All of the 300 series model numbers I can find are centerfire rifles. No mention of a rimfire in this series. Apparently the highest number, in the 300 models, was the 370 Ultra Medalist Target manufactured from '68 to '73. Last shown production for any 300 model was the 340 which ceased in '84. I have been told that H&R made a few small lots of various rifles over the years that factory records were very vague about. It is possible your friend has something from one of these supposed runs. I would suggest you contact the NRA and ask them to research this for you as this 365 seems to be an odd duck or I am simply missing it some where in my books. It's happened to me before, but not often. Let me know if you find any solid information. Mike |
