Let's see your game camera pics

Looked a little bit to see if there was a thread like this, but didn't see one.
So, what have you been seeing on your game cameras?
I have this one set up in my backyard.

Those are some good looking deer. I don't have the pics, but one of the cameras on my friends' property caught a bear really close to where I set up my tent.

Here you go, 400 pounder. Very tasty, in fact, having some for supper! Had another one given to me, smaller 200 pounder. Can't believe people only want the rug. I saved about 40 lbs of fat off the big one to give to a neighbor. She deep fries doughnuts, etc with it.

Powerranger262 12-21-2017 07:01 AM

I always heard the neck meat is supposed to be very tasty on a bear.

Powerranger262 12-21-2017 07:07 AM

This one keeps showing up every night. He stood there for 45 mins eating. Next year, he's probably going to be something. Otherwise a bunch of spikes, and smaller bucks.

Thinking about moving my camera. After the snow around here, they have moved on to my shrubs, and trees. They are spending quite a bit of time eating my crabapple.

Powerranger262 01-28-2018 09:28 AM

Experimenting with some different baits. I took a jar of crunchy peanut butter, cut a hole in it, and screwed it to a tree. Simple enough.
As I figured, the squirrels love it. Took a little while for the deer to try it. I wouldn't say they are completely crazy about it, but they are eating it.

Good pics. I really like the squirrel sitting on the peanut butter jar. I should sent it to my friends so they can try that.

Powerranger262 01-28-2018 01:55 PM

There's about 250 more pics of squirrels. Great squirrel feeder, mediocre deer feeder.

My friends have an apple tree in their yard and take a lot of apples up to their cabin in the fall. They got a lot of pics of deer and some of a bear too. All within spitting distance from where I pitch my tent, but they wait until I pack it up before putting the apples out.

Ignore the date - this was actually taken the 1st week of march 2018 in my yard.

Last year on my hunting land. Damn bears tend to be hard on feeders. One of them even tried to open the gravity box that we use to haul feed.

Powerranger262 05-20-2018 06:56 AM

It's amazing what a bear will get if it wants it. Friend of mine would get the metal 55 gallon drums of gummi bears, and leave the lid on. They would tear that lid right off, and roll that barrel all over like nothing. Took him and I all we had to get those barrels into his truck.
He also had a spray bottle of some super strong cherry concentrate, that he would spray stumps with. They would shred them into mulch. Same went for the shed that he left the bottle in. Just destroyed it.

 My friends stored some apples in their pop-up camper and a bear tried to open the door. It must have been a small one not to break the door right off.

Nice pics DeeDawg. A friend of my dad moved out of the city to a much nicer area and fed the deer right out of his kitchen window. I watched him toss apples out in the front yard and they'd walk right up and eat them. He had names for a bunch of them but the only one I can remember was Mickey Mouse. I think that one had big ears.

I have way too many in the yard to give them names. My brother and I must have saw at least 30 deer at one time in the yard.

You must have a freezer full of venison.

Nope; I don't have any. I travel too much and don't get enough time to eat it. Any meat I get I give a way. I do get in some over seas hunts, though...

I'm not a traveling man. I haven't left the country since I got back from Germany, West Germany back then, in 1984. Except for a few gambling trips to Canada that I just remembered. It was kind of weird living in the same barracks the Germans did until 1945, with a bunch of our helicopters sitting on the same airfield the Luftwaffe used for their bombers. And there were nukes all over the place, and spy satellites above that we had to wait for to pass over before going out on maneuvers. I had enough of that life, but respect anyone who served or is still serving.

DeeDawg is short for Devil Dog, right? I'm a former Red Devil, myself. 5th Infantry Division (Mechanized). I don't use division patches for avatars but instead shrunk these 2 pics down to use on another forum.

I love to travel, and spend about 90% of the year overseas for both work and holiday.

Yes, it stands for Devil Dog. I spent some time in the Corps.

I thought you mentioned being a marine before but my memory is great some times and terrible other times.

I may have; I don't remember

Before my brother went on vacation he was talking about game cameras. I don't how many he has but he can't keep track of them. One may have still been on a tree 280 miles away at camp. When he gets back I'll try to remember to ask him if he got any good pics.

I don't have any trail cameras myself, but only because I'm too far away to maintain them.

There's not much wildlife to see around here if you don't count hood rats.
