Default Looking for a quad newbe here, greetings

hey guys and gals!

I bought a taotao ata 250E... i just got an email that said they were all out. Im very happy now. As i read all the reviews and it made me think ******** what did i just do... waste over a grand on crap. So now i have about 2k to spend and would like to have your thoughts on what i should buy, used would be nice but tough to find. new would be prob way over my head. i want something to last, start, run, idle, work well in sand but also do well off road. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums.

Are you looking for something sporty or more utility? Automatic or clutch?

Sounds like a used Honda trx 300 or 400 would be good for you. Very dependable, so buying used isn't as big as a risk, especially if you bought an off brand. Lots of mods to keep you happy once you get used to it. And you should be able to find one in your price range.

I'd check out craigslist in your area and see what they have. Just be sure it's local. Lots of scams saying they'll ship you the bike. If you can't see it, don't buy it.

Not too bad. But it would depend on minor cosmetic is. Scratched plastic is just part of general use. Bent bumpers and arms would be different.

I personally would go look at it see if there is as mentioned bent cracked missing plastics and such on it and it says best offer so make him an offer of what you would be willing to pay for it in the shape that its in start it see if you can test ride it and make your decision on how you feel about the looks and how it runs
